The “Remarkable Garden” label has existed since 2004 and certifies the aesthetic and cultural interest of certain parks and gardens in France. It is awarded by the French Ministry of Culture for 5 years renewable.

The Loire Valley, rich in natural and historical heritage, alone has 31 remarkable gardens. Here are 3 magnificent ones not to be missed.

The remarkable gardens of Chenonceau Castle.

Nestled in the heart of Touraine, the Chenonceau Castle has wonderful gardens divided into several areas and labeled “Remarkable Gardens”.

In addition to visiting the majestic “Château des Dames”, stroll through the vegetable garden of Chenonceau where you will be enchanted by the varieties of apple and pear trees but also by the sublime roses.

The park of the Chenonceau Castle will amaze you with its various themed gardens. English style with Catherine de Medici's garden overlooking a romantic pond. French style with the structured garden of Diane de Poitiers. You can also get lost in the park's circular maze.

The castle also has its unique floral workshop in France run by two great florists who flower both the interior of the castle and the floral park. A feast for the eyes.

Practical information: Admission is €12 for children under 27, and it will cost between €15 for an adult over 27. Enjoy the castle and its gardens all summer from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from August to December between 10 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Please note, however, that the castle is closed between January and June.

Garden of Chenonceau

The remarkable gardens of the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire.

How not to tell you about the remarkable Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire renowned for its International Garden Festival every year!

This annual meeting offers you the opportunity to discover dozens of landscaped gardens and increasingly new and original scenographies.

Many events on different themes such as photos, seasonal flowers or even meetings with artists are organized each year.

The emblematic park of the castle with its 32 hectares has nothing to envy to the new facilities with its linear French-style garden and delicately flowered.

Historic castle, stables, emblematic gardens or new landscaping, there is always something to see at Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire.

Practical information: The Domaine welcomes you in summer from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. then from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. until October 31, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until November 7 and finally from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. until December 31. Garden of Chaumont sur Loire

What makes the gardens of this Renaissance castle so charming and has allowed it to be labeled remarkable is the quantity of different landscapes and the variety of plant species that you will find there.
